The homewares retail industry is highly competitive, making it challenging to stand out without strategic content & design. In 2020, I was lucky enough to help mother-daughter duo; Nicole & Lauren Staveley transform their beloved local homewares store, β€˜The Little Things in Life’, into a website which I designed through Shopify.

Originally started in 2017 & located in Eltham, β€˜The Little Things in Life’ went live online at the end of 2020 to accommodate the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions, ensuring their loyal customers could still get their β€˜retail fix’ through β€˜Click & Collect’ services. They now ship nationwide, garnering a loyal customer base interstate as well as in their Eltham store.

The products stocked by β€˜The Little Things in Life’ have been featured on Channel 9’s 'The Block' every year since and stock renowned brands like Olivia Newton John's 'Retreatment Botanics' skincare, L&M Home, and Joanna Gaines cookbooks just to name a few.

You can visit β€˜The Little Things in Life’ both in store & online today!

Due to COVID-19 lockdown restrictions, Nicole & Lauren wanted to make their store available to their loyal customers in the comfort of their own home. So when they reached out to me in 2020 I was delighted to work on this for them!

The customer would be able to browse the online website, pay online & β€˜The Little Things in Life’ would offer FREE β€˜Click & Collect’ for the 5km radius of the store. They had a great reaction to this & is still a part of their services today.

Within the first couple of months of taking over their Instagram & Facebook accounts, I had doubled their original following and significantly increased engagement, converting it into sales both in-store and online.

To achieve these results, I improved the bio to be more SEO friendly, performed a detailed hashtag analysis, and developed a comprehensive marketing strategy. This strategic approach reactivated their dormant followers, leading to an impressive boost in engagement and visibility.

The most significant visual improvement was transforming the chaotic appearance of the posts into a cohesive and harmonious profile. Instead of focusing on individual posts, we curated a seamless feed that showcased all aspects of the products. Additionally, we included a quote tile every fifth post to create a balanced and visually appealing layout.
